Why does the Democratic Party, the party of the middle class, not support drilling for oil and lower taxes?

Wouldn't that help their constituents?Why does the Democratic Party, the party of the middle class, not support drilling for oil and lower taxes?
You want the honest answer. Here it is. The democrats are still pissed off about the Gore/Bush race back in 2000. If Gore had called for a recount of the whole state, as the republicans asked for, there's a good chance he would have won. I won't go any further than that, it would take more space than I'm allowed..

Anyway, because of their hate for Bush, they will not allow anything good to come out of his presidency. They want him to go down in history as the worst president ever, and are willing to throw their own party, and the American people under the bus to achieve this goal.Why does the Democratic Party, the party of the middle class, not support drilling for oil and lower taxes?
Well they are drilling for oil. New oil fields in North Dakota, and new gas drilling in the Barnett shell. There is big money in the oil companies coffers these days and they are opening up new fields. I still believe their profits are excessive, but we still need to conserve. For myself, retired, I have two days a week to stay home. Then Sunday on the weekend i stay home and fast. Have saved money and stopped the weight gain. We can all be creative and find ways to conserve that works for us.
i don't know about the party...

i'd like to see other energy alternatives investigated. and any drilled oil won't effect what we pay any time soon (if ever)

the process of manufacturing other methods (like windmills) creates jobs.

mccain tax plan is more of lil'bush's... giving a break to the rich. ya see where the put us don't ya ?

and mccain's economics guy, gramm.. he's the *genius* who pushed to deregulate mortgages

';While advising the McCain campaign, Gramm was being paid by UBS to lobby Congress about the U.S. mortgage crisis. ...... ';the mortgage industry pressed Congress to roll back strong state rules that sought to stem the rise of predatory tactics used by lenders and brokers to place homeowners in high-cost mortgages.';

this is the guy who said americans are just a bunch of whiners.

and don't tell me he's stepped down. they just pushed him to the back of the bus for a while.

mccain's good friend and advisor phil graham also helped opened up speculation on oil prices.. (while i am not sure how the speculation thing works, i do understand it is a large contributor to the high prices)

sorry.. got a little off on a tangent there.. lol
Because their constituents aren't rich. Therefore lowering taxes just for the rich which is McCain's goal is, is not valuable to democrats.
Dems want the oil companies to drill on the leases they currently hold. They also want to lower taxes for all those making less than $200,000 or $250,000 per year. You should try reading instead of listening to talking points.
Their busy impeaching the current administration.
