WE NEED OIL.We need as much oil as possible to be a successful country.We should not let anything stop usAnyone here not want to start drilling for more oil?
Me. If we drill for oil we will be making oil cheaper not just for America but for China, India, Europe, etc. everyone.


I don't think we can produce enough oil to bring the WORLD price down.





Unless you are promoting Hugo Chavez style socialism where we don't let the free market determine the price of gas by regulating the American price to be below the world price.





Drilling for oil will (a)make oil companies rich and (b)delay the inevitable need to move away from oil to other energy sources. Frankly, I think we should leave it in the ground- it ain't going anywhere, and we might need it later. If the Arabs are willing to sell us oil now, we should keep buying it from them. Just a long term perspective - I know you want cheaper gas now.Anyone here not want to start drilling for more oil?
If it's your property, you should be allowed to drill on it if you want. The problem is when governments make claims on vast amounts of land. They do this by either claiming lands outright or claiming partial ownership by telling you what you can or can not do with your property. When government owns property, its use must be determine by rulers, bureaucrats and majority vote. Contrary to popular dogma, political institutions are not efficient at allocating resources.





I hate collectivism!
I think we should drill and I think every drop of it should stay in the United States. I also think that a portion of every dollar we pay for our new cheaper gas should go to funding research on alternative fuels.

Yes, among other things, such as making more fuel efficient cars and building some new ******* refineries in this country to produce more fuel.
