Bush lifts oil drilling ban, wants Congress to act?

Which Presidents have supported the oil ban?Bush lifts oil drilling ban, wants Congress to act?
All, since the senior Bush enacted it. If the new drilling would do anything, I would be for it. Problem is that since the oil companies have leases on 68,000,000 acres of property, and do not wish to drill on them, why give them more? It is common knowledge that this would do nothing for at least 10 years, if that soon. There have not been any new oil refineries built for over 25 years either. The latest reversal of the fine for the oil spill in CA will not convince anyone to be more ';for'; this idea. I don't claim to be an ';oil expert'; but why does the situation with GM ending jobs, produce a $6 per barrel lowering of oil prices? Governments are causing the oil price hikes, not the availability of oil.Bush lifts oil drilling ban, wants Congress to act?
It is an 'off shore' drilling ban that has been in effect since Bush Sr. It was supported by Clinton and also by Bush Jr. And, I might add, has had the support of many Republican Governors, Congressman, and Senators that were worried that off shore drilling platforms in some of the highly affluent and wealthy real estate markets of coastal states, and tourist trade in the very same states, could be severely affected.
Harry Reid says they are way ahead of Bush, and the oil companies already have many many off shore leases to drill on, but they won't drill until the price is right.

BUT WHAT HARRY REID IS NOT TELLING IS, THE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT TREE HUGG'N LOWLIFE SCUM SUCKERS HAVE ALL THOSE LEASES HELD UP BY LAW SUITS. ((((are you paying attention here railroad dave?)))) AND THE OIL COMPANIES CANNOT DRILL ON THOSE LEASES UNTIL THE SUITS ARE SETTLED.
it was bush 41 that enacted the ban . its funny , the oil companies have thousands of acres of off shore leases , yet haven't drilled . why ? why does bush43 want to open even more acres ? i think there is a conspiracy to screw the public .
All the presidents from Nixon on up. But as usual Congress will dither and wait until things get worse before even thinking about helping fix the problem.
Bush is fixing every mistake hi daddy have make gulf war, oil ban, and soo on
does not matter who supported the ban.time to get real ! http://americansolutions.com/drillnow
I'm all for it as a scuba diver. Drilling rigs are some of the best dive sites for sea life.
Guess who began the ban in the first place: Bush Sr.
