What are the pros of drilling for oil in alaska, need it quick?

i have to do a report in science and i have to have atleast 9 reasons it would be a good thing to drill in Alaska for oil. it is for a science project. and your refrences would be nice toWhat are the pros of drilling for oil in alaska, need it quick?
I can't think of nine, but here's a few (1) It's oil that doesn't need to be imported. (2) It could have a slight impact on lowering crude prices. (3) It would provide jobs and income for americans. (4) It would utilize the alaska pipeline further into the future, instead of abandoning it when Prudoe Bay runs out. (5) It would provide tax revenue for alaska. What are the pros of drilling for oil in alaska, need it quick?
Most US refineries are mechanically configured to refine ';sweet light'; crude oil which mainly comes from the gulf states, Mexico, Venuezala, and the Middle East. US refineries would take many years and billions of dollars to be reconfigured to refine Alaskan crude (which costs more to refine into useable products like gasoline). A lot of Alaskan crude is exported to Asia and not used domestically. Current Alaskan oil fields are operating at 20-50% of capacity. If new wells were opened the current wells production would be cut to keep the prices up just like they have in the past. ANWAR is a joke. The US imports oil from the middle east and exports oil from Alaska. Alaska doesn't care who buys the oil so Alaska can come up with 9 good reasons but you wont be able to.
