PRO's: we become reliant on ourselves for energy, and not evil OPEC. Prices fall as the prospect of supply rises, and yes, we can finally profit from other countries buying our oil, instead of the other way around. We become sustainable, from an energy and security standpoint. we provide realistic, usable, cost effective energy for the next 50 years. which gives us a stop gap measure until we can transition into renewable energies.





CON's: it will take upwards of 5 years to fully tap all of our resources. it won't take 10 as the media would have you believe, and there is no environmental impact- the methods we use now are incredibly safe and well tested. the final con is it would take a miracle to get through such a Dem. Congress...Drilling for oil in the USA, positives and negatives?
Why? You know that the oil producers will sell it to the highest bidders. That oil won't stay here. It will most likely go to China.
We can use our own resources from our own country. This means there will be more jobs for Americans here in America, and we don't have to buy as much oil from countries that hate us.
