Why do people get caught up in political pandering, like drilling more oil,or building nuclear plants

I would bet $1000 that either McCain or Obama in the white house will make no significant change in the outcome of these proposals. It is pretty sad when elections are won by the candidate who panders the most popular promises even though they have no intention of keeping them, combined with the candidate who runs the most negative ads that don't even have to be anywhere near the truth.

';Obama 2008';Why do people get caught up in political pandering, like drilling more oil,or building nuclear plants
I believe you are wrong. I believe Obama will make a significate change in our politics. I believe he is going to shake up washington and send those lobbyist back to their companies whining. I hope that we can fix the damage that has not just happened in the last 7 years its deeper than that it goes back to Nixon and the failing from him and those that followed him. we have let too much money out of our borders for the sake of being a superpower. I want my country to make its citizens start behaving responsibly. I want a parent to go back and be a parent and stop letting the child run the house. I want the economy to go back to being backed with gold and i want to see our highways with lots of cars powered by hemp or electrictity like they have at disney land. I guess i am dreaming so if i am please no one wake me. i want to live in a free society but not so free as to disrespect morality. Why do people get caught up in political pandering, like drilling more oil,or building nuclear plants
Lets just say we don't have many chess players in this crowd.
your voting for a panderer
I'm voting for Obama because he represents a change from the politics you describe.Have you seen him run a single negative ad?
Both McCain and Obama will allow offshore drilling and push to build more nukes. They will do this because regardless of who wins, it will be vital for the United States to thrive and survive. Just today Obama changed his position on offshore drilling. 70 % of the electorate want more drilling, any candidate opposed to more energy whether nuclear or fossil fuel, collected in a responsible manner will lose.
Your right! It's like suddenly needing to apologize for slavery and Jim Crowe laws instead of voting on an energy bill.
