First of all Off-Shore drilling won't do anything





Also Obama is not opposed to more drilling in the continental U.S. but the fact is we only have three percent of the worlds oil. We can't drill our way out of this.





Alternate fuel is not as far off as you might think. Brazil has been using bio fuels for years it has been working pretty well for them. Also Spain and other coutries have been using a lot of slolar energy. Why should other countries go ahead of us while we stay behind?





We have the technology to wean ourselves from from foreign oil why not use it?How will Obama free us from Saudi Oil in 10 years, without drilling?
I agree with Dog. As long as the Saudi's own OVER a trillion worth of our economy, and have a lobby in Washington, we're screwed.





What do you mean ';without drilling';? We have handed over 93 million acres of drilling rights to the oil companies. That's aboutt the size of teh entire state of California. How much are they using: 24 million. Why do they need more if they only use a little more than 1/3 of what they already have? Do they intend on selling the drillingg rights to China?





The drilling argument is bogus, face it.





There was a very stupid argument between McCain and Obama about Obama's comment on keeping tire pressure correct AND keeping cars tuned up. I just saw an article that sourced our own governments numbers, and according to our government, tuning up our cars and keeping tire pressure correct would save %3-%4. But drilling as McCain has suggested would save (from foreign import) about %1. So, tuning your car, and getting the air pressure right your tires would save you more, as absurd as it sounds.
According to you, alternatives are way far away from being anything close to usable. According to others, the We Campaign for one, with some political will and funding we could power the U.S. on renewable, green energy (solar and wind) within 10 years easy. Incidentally. If the U.S. drilled all of the oil it could, on the mainland, off shore, in Alaska, all of it, we might have enough oil for the U.S. demand for a couple of years.

GM has the patent and produce an electric car back in 1996, but choose to cancel the program. The auto manufactures chose high margin SUV sales instead. No they have to close plants because no one is buying them.

Mandate that everyone ride a motor bike to work and shopping, keep AC at 80 degrees and heat at 60 degrees, turn off all residental electric at 9 PM, and *MOST IMPORTANT* keep everyone's tires properly inflated!






It's just another of Obama's political ploys - lofty dreams - come-on speeches. I have a sick feeling we will be free of all oil in 10 years under an Obama administration.......with our faces in the dirt.

He will pray to Allah to invent something and deliver us from depending on his believers.
As long as the Saudi's lobby our congress, we'll never drill. Congress will stash their bribes in overseas accounts and make us all pay through the nose so they can live high on the hog.
