I'm afraid you have bought into the propaganda, but don't feel bad, everyone has. Simple reason there is so little drilling - huge profits from selling foreign oil = no incentive to drill here. It's easy to blame it on environmentalists or some liberals or Democrats or just some voodoo spell, but the simple fact is that with the oil companies raking in record profits (remember, much of that expensive ';foreign'; oil they buy they buy from themselves) there is no incentive to work harder. Realize also that corporate profits are the monies that are NOT invested in new drilling, new equipment, etc. When we did away with such incentives as oil depletion allowances and investment tax credits and lowered the corporate income tax many of the incentives for reinvestment were removed and the money that used to go into new equipment, new drilling, worker benefits, etc. simply went into the share-holders and executive's pockets. No need to give this a lot of thumbs down. It isn't socialism, it isn't communism, it's just facts, and facts should appreciated.When will the Government realize start drilling and make some damn oil?

But you are exactly right. We need to take advantage of the resources we have here in this country. That means that these environmentalis wacko groups who control the Congress need to be removed from their influential positions. Right now, we are loosing money on a daily basis because stupid liberal democrat judges protect plants and non-human animals rather than human beings. Our technologies are so far advanced than those of the '60's and '70's that we would be able to produce more gasoline from less oil and substantially less impact on the environment than ever before. But we don't because stupid people believe in stupid liberal values and vote democrat. It is wrong and it is the downfall of this country.
It will happen as soon as the Dems stop their efforts to keep us dependent on foreign oil. Clinton twice vetoed the drilling in ANWR, and the Dems in congress have voted to continue this folly for years now. They keep pushing for their pipe-dream of ';alternative'; energy. Yeah... we should be reaping the benefits of that any day now.
Well, the democrats will have a chance to join with the Republicans on a bi-partisan bill to allow for more oil production. This would also have the benefit of creating more American jobs.





Lets see what the democrats do, they have a chance to actually do something for a CHANGE.
