What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? How will they be affected?

The native Americans want drilling, its jobs and good money. They know drilling doesn't pollute the environment because they worked on the oil pipeline and Prudhoe bay. They are currently working on the new Gas pipeline that Governor Palin started to carry natural gas to the lower 48.





Of course the pipeline won`t carry anything if Obama is elected.What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? How will they be affected?
There are many tribes in Alaska besides Eskimos as another poster has referred them all to be. Eskimo is a generic term but there are many different tribes and even many more factions. Some have sold out, others remain obstinate. I'd say its split between natives that are for more raping of the enviroment and those that are against it.What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? SARAH PALIN SAID ON THE NEWS THAT THE FOOTPRINT WERE THEY WANT TO DO THEIR EXPLORATORY DRILLING IS SMALLER THAN THE LAX AIRPORT. SHE ALSO SAID IT WILL NOT AFFECT THE POLAR BEARS AS PREVIOUSLY STATED. ANOTHER CONSIDERATION SHE SPOKE OF WAS THAT THE INITIAL CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT FOR ALASKA'S ADMISSION TO THE U.S. AS A STATE WAS THAT THE RESOURCES ALASKA POSSESSED WERE TO BE EXPLOITED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE U.S. IN THE END DRILLING FOR OIL IN ALASKA RESULTS IN AN INCREASE IN REVENUE FOR THE STATE FROM THE TAX DOLLARS, SO EVERYBODY BENEFITS. LIKEWISE THEY ARE DESIGNING A NEW OIL PIPELINE WHICH WILL CREATE JOBS AND THEREFORE MORE MONEY FROM TAX DOLLARS THAT WILL GO TO THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE STATE.
The royalties from drilling is distributed to residents of Alaska, so it is not just the jobs. Last I heard they got $3200 a year per person, so almost everyone there wants to drill. Palin just increased it from $2000 because with the high price of gas they got more oil revenue.

They don't care as long as they get money out of it and the land doesn't get ruined. Eskimos like oil. They like to have heat from oil and gasoline to run their snow mobiles and trucks. Eskimos are realistic.
Most Alaskan's favor drilling, it brings jobs and revenues to the state. This is why Palin has an 80% approval rating in her state.
They like drilling, want the jobs, and appreciate a Governor like Palin that understands economics.
Probably with less unemployment and cheaper gas.
They're all for it. It brings jobs and money into their community
