Pickens Wants to Use Natural Gas to Fuel Cars. Does Pickens Forget that Gas Comes from Drilling for Oil?

Experts have called Pickens plan to shift fuel from oil to natural gas similar to ';jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.';





Does that sound like a great idea?





Why isn't Pickens just calling for us to use more nuclear plants. France gets 80% of their electricity from nuclear energy. Why don't we? Pickens is in it for money. Natural gas is not a good alternative to gasoline or it would already be being used more widely. You still have to drill and you have to refine and transport. It will power your car. It will also add weight and decrease the drive distance between refills.





Here in the fly over country a lot of good ol' boys run propane or natural gas but the tank takes up a good portion of the bed.

Natural gas and light sweet crude are two different things entirely. It just so happens that the U.S. has more usable natural gas than it does crude oil. Also, the French aren't running their cars on nuclear power, they are using oil. The nuclear is only for electricity. Pickens wants the U.S. to generate its electric power by using wind turbines. It is a lot cleaner and safer than nuclear.
Just build the damn green freedom plants and be done with this nonsense.
