Why wont the democrates allow more oil drilling in the usa?

To drill where we are not currently drilling...requires a change of mind from certain governmental and private sector groups who oppose drilling mainly for environmental reasons...There are also some who believe new drilling will not change the resources available for use without adding new costly refineries...Then there are the folks who think the oil industry is too large and profitable to allow expansion without some restraint. The Democrats don't care much about anything that does not directly support their agenda...but hey...They gotta be unhappy with the prices at the pump too. Now ...Will all the above being fixed get the gas prices back under 2$ a gallon? Not likely...the prices are here to stay ...I predict 4.80 a gallon next summer.Why wont the democrates allow more oil drilling in the usa?
It's becoming less financially viable, for one. Unless you're drilling in Alaska, you'd need to go really deep to get any layers of oil that haven't already been tapped. The other side of the coin is the environmental damage drilling brings with it, although this has much improved. It might be better to spend your time looking for environmentally friendly energy sources than asking these kind of questions.Why wont the democrates allow more oil drilling in the usa?
the days of oil are coming to an end soon, maybe 2, possibly 3 decades worth left globally at our present rate of consumption. It is very short sighted to invest major money into finding the last of that oil as opposed to R%26amp;D into renewable fuel. we will have to invest in renewable sooner or later, why waste so much now on a dead technology, better to invest it into a fuel that has a future.


also remember that the terrorists are largely funded by oil revenues, the sooner we get off the oil habit the sooner these people will be starved out of existence. Like it or not, every time we fill up we're supporting them.
Basically because they think that somehow by making the job of the oil companies in this country as difficult as possible it will lower energy prices. Besides, some caribou might be put off by the sight of oil exploration.





At the same time environmental rules in this country make it almost impossible to build any new oil refining capacity in the US. No wonder our economy is going in the toilet.
Where did you get that idea from? We drill for oil all over the US. The USA is the third leading oil producer in the WORLD, behind Saudi Arabia and Russia.
There are vast oil fields in the US that are already being drilled and producing oil. There is really no need to either buy ';foreign'; oil or to drill any new wells.
