Does it Bother Hillary & Obama to Make Elderly Suffer by NOT Drilling for Oil or Building Nuclear Plants?

The price of fuel oil for heating has been outrageous and may be worse next winter.

Yet, the Dems do all they can to prevent America from drilling for oil. Is that cruel?Does it Bother Hillary %26amp; Obama to Make Elderly Suffer by NOT Drilling for Oil or Building Nuclear Plants?
To answer your question;

If not they should be, Democrat policy to prevent the domestic production of not only oil, but natural gas in Alaska and the Gulf. Their push to divert corn to Ethanol production has caused a world wide price increase of food. Along with the prevention of construction of nuclear power plants. Everything it seems Democrats do is diametrically opposite of their pledge to be the party for the poor.Does it Bother Hillary %26amp; Obama to Make Elderly Suffer by NOT Drilling for Oil or Building Nuclear Plants?
What did the republicans do during bush's first 6 years in office to increase drilling for oil and building nuclear power plants? Oh yeah, NOTHING. This is not a partisan issue, its a class/greed issue.....its the have's versus the have-nots. Thats why the ever increasing gap between wage earners and executive pay is a really big deal (it used to be 40:1 in 1980, now its 300:1)

57% of the federal land leases with oil reserves are open for unlimited drilling.....and have been for years. The oil companies do not want to drill here. They do not want to increase production by any appreciable manner because it would drive down the price. They have STATED this before congress....as they say, they are a business after all.

Dems prevent America from opening more areas for drilling because there are already more than enough areas to drill right now....why do they need more areas for drilling, if they aren't taking advantage of the areas already available?

Not to mention, alternative fuels....we need to invest and come up with alternative fuels....no reason to even keep playing this game of 'increased demand' and raising prices for the summer, thanksgiving, christmas holiday, etc...

they are manipulating the market and until we the people either BOYCOTT and severly decrease our consumption of oil -OR- start holding our elected officials truly accountable nothing will happen. Odd how our demand seemed to increase greatly shortly after oil companies started merging....

';Over the last quarter-century, the number of refineries in the United States dropped to 149, less than half the number in 1981. Because companies have upgraded and expanded their aging operations, refining capacity during that time period shrank only 10 percent from its peak of 18.6 million barrels a day. At the same time, gasoline consumption has risen by 45 percent.';

Now, why would they decrease capacity over 24 years (article written in 2005) when they know demand is only going to increase here?
Industry can do that now. They don't care to because it is easier to import oil and pass the cost on to consumers. They make money and no investment risk. That's deregulation. They won't invest if they don't have to. I'm not surprised you can't see that being a contard an all.
No they don't feel they bear any of the guilt in the matter. They say it's all the greedy oil companies for actually wanting to make a profit.
i don't know, does it bother the Bushes that their butt buddy business partners the Saudis are gouging us, and refuse to up production.

I guess we know who the ';catcher'; is in that relationship
Read this article and then tell me who's making the elderly suffer.

This is beyond disingenuous.

Now you're telling me the Republicans are all about caring for old folks and keeping oil prices reasonable?
Of course not, they only care about themselves..
Make you a deal, we will build a nuclear plant if you let us use your back yard to dumb the toxic waste. Is that okay?
