The cost to drill off our cost is so prohibative to a foreign country - it will never happen unless Mccain is elected. In which case the US will be flooded due to gobal warming. The Chinese can't drill off shore if it is off our shore.


Besides, why should we care if they do, we will be using other types of energy and oil will be worthless to us.

Nobody, and they are already drilling 80 miles off the coast next to our oil and soon they will be sucking up our oil with a Huge straw! they are already in the process, yet Democratic Congress won't let us drill our own oil, its like saying '; Go Ahead China Take Our Oil!
Why would we need to stop them? Oil companies don't need the president's approval. They have leases on tens of thousands of acres... they can increase their drilling operations anytime they like.








People talk about new off shore leases as if that's a cure all and a given that oil companies are willing to make the necessary investment in new operations AND new refineries.

WHAT I DON'T GET IS HOW WE SANCTION OTHER COUNTRIES FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES, BUT WE ALLOW CHINA TO MANUFACTURE MUCH OF THE STUFF WE BUY. WHY AREN'T THESE JOBS IN THE U.S. OR EVEN MEXICO FOR THAT MATTER. MAYBE IF WE DID THAT WE WOULDN'T HAVE THIS IMMIGRATION ISSUE.
You know what drilling in international waters is currently allowed and if we don't someone will. How would all those tree huggers like it if China was drilling 25 miles off of the Florida coast. We could not stop them and not one other country could stop them either. Do you think they would clean up the mess if they had a major spill? I don't, I don't think they would give a rats a** if the Florida coast was covered in oil.
